February 2008 Israel & Syria: A Deal At Hand A discussion with: Dr. Alon Liel Former Director-General of Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs In 2005 and 2006, Dr Alon Liel led a series of informal unofficial meetings between Israelis and Syrians. These meetings formulated a landmark set of understandings for a comprehensive peace agreement between Israel and Syria. Dr Liel will share the outcomes and the ideas emerging from those talks, and the challenges that confronted both sides in reaching these understandings Dr.

My new defense organization has been hosting or co-hosting round table discussions and seminars on various Middle East related issues including one's on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict and on Iran. The intention is to to offer alternative perspectives on the issues addressed as well as open discussions. The following are the events to date:

Doug Bandow, Phil Giraldi and Larry Madison and I joined forces to create the American Conservative Defense Alliance in 2007 in order to promote a more realistic and Constitutionally appropriate foreign and defense strategy. We were joined by Peter Gemma who will be doing development for us and Jesse Benton who will be doing media. Our advisory board is an impressive list of center-right people.
