Four Hour Work Week

in late June of 2007, I found Four Hour Work Week after purchasing the book by the same title by Tim Ferriss. I have spent some time on the site, found the book on tape and have tracked TF's blog on a regular basis. His program/ideas are quite inspirational especially in lite of the type of work I do and the type of life style it already allows. I will be blogging on what I have learned by listening to his book (8 times now) over time as well as wirting through new ideas it has generated. Yeah 8 times is a bit much but I spend a lot of time in the car, walking between meetings and on the metro and have a tendancy toward OCD behavior. The one thing that really stood out for me at this time is the call for eliminating excess 'information' from your life. As a result of his suggestions, I have cut my emails down to a few hundred a day. Not exactly an 'eliminiation' but a reduction. I have done so by unsubscribing from hundreds of email newsletters and discussion groups which I have been tracking for years now. I also stopped watching the news (month of June) and stopped listening to talk radio. It has been really nice to cut out both sources of shallow information.
