National Security Speech at AAI Annual Conference

In late October 2007, I joined Grover Norquist from Americans for Tax Reform, Kary Moss of the ACLU-Michigan, Noel Saleh and Linda Mansour on a panel discussion on policy and politcs. I gave a short speech and then participated in the panel discussion. My speech was on the misuse of langauge in the so-called 'war on terror' and how in order to ensure true 'national security' we needed to differentiate bewteen state security and national security, we needed to protect the constitution, separation of powers, our constitutional rights and be pragmatic as well as principled in our foreign policy. I also discused the need to support the American Freedom Agenda
